Important Notice: Updates to Manuscript Submission Guidelines and Status of Pre-2026 Submissions

2026-06-25

Dear Authors and Researchers,

Effective from 2026, we are implementing strict updates to our manuscript submission and review processes to ensure a highly standardised, trackable, and efficient system. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause. This transition is a necessary step driven by an overhaul of our legacy internal policies and the regeneration of our systems.

Status of Pre-2026 Submissions
All general manuscript submissions made prior to 2026 are hereby considered null and void. If you submitted a manuscript before this year and have not received a review notification, you are free to submit your work to another journal. No further action or formal retraction is required on your part.

However, if your submission status indicates that a reviewer has already been assigned, but there has been no subsequent progress or publication, please email us at j-amsa@amsa-international.org for further follow-up.

Exception: Please note that the pre-2026 nullification does not apply to conference submissions (East Asian Medical Students' Conference (EAMSC) and Asian Medical Students' Conference (AMSC)) exclusively reserved for AMSA International members. These specific submissions remain active and will be processed accordingly.

New Submission Guidelines (2026 Onwards)
Moving forward, all new journal submissions will strictly adhere to the official Call for Papers timelines announced on our platform. Furthermore, manuscripts will only be considered if they align precisely with the designated topics established for each respective submission period.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we upgrade our infrastructure to better serve our research community.

Kind regards,
JAMSA Editorial Board 2025/2026
